.IT Domain Name Registrations

Introduced in 1987, Italy’s dot IT country-specific extension is really popular both within the country and in the English-speaking world. The reason is that the domain is a pronoun, which can be used for constructing creative and appealing domain names – write.it, youcanmake.it and so on. This is a way to have an easy-to-memorize domain name, so that it will be easier for your visitors to go back to your website or to share it with coworkers and pals. The extension can also be used for a website, which is connected to the information technology sector having in mind that IT is an abbreviation, which is in use all over the world.

Because of the fact that dot IT domains are not sold directly by IT-NIC, the Registry that controls this extension, such a domain can be ordered through a third-party domain provider, such as ours. We will manage the registration process for you and take care of submitting your application to the Registry organization. You can grab a .IT domain for a one-year period at a time, and the domains are transferable, so you can move your existing domain over to us and we will renew it as soon as the transfer has been finished. The only limitation is that the person ordering such a domain needs to be situated in a member state of the EU.

As there are existing Second-Level Domains that include names of different regions and localities in Italy reserved for local 3rd-level registrations, new names that include geographical regions of any sort are not allowed on any level to avoid any future confusion. We do not support such 3rd-level domains, though, since they can be registered only by locals.
